Adriana Alter
Director, Shakespeare coach, editor, and writer
DIRECTING
I am the co-founder and artistic director of Atlas Shakespeare Company, a New York City-based repertory company dedicated to reintroducing audiences to Shakespeare's work via vivid, inclusive, character-driven productions.

Other theatrical experience includes work with Two Good Dogs Productions, the Secret Theatre, Hip to Hip Theatre Company, the Riant Theatre, Chelsea Repertory Company, Identity Theater Company/Nicu’s Spoon Theater Company, Royal Family Productions, and Hartford Stage.
SHAKESPEARE COACHING
I provide private coaching for performers looking to select and master Shakespearean monologues, and am always happy to hear from prospective clients. I have worked with clients at every level from absolute Shakespeare novices to experts, and at every phase from initial monologue selection to audition/performance preparation.
EDITING & CONTENT CREATION
I hold a professional certification in UX writing from the UX Content Collective, and I have created and edited content across an extensive range of platforms, genres, and subject matters. My experience includes writing marketing copy for a major pet tech company, conducting a full content audit on a specialized law firm's website, editing literary fiction, fact-checking highly technical articles about electric vehicles, and everything in between. Much like directing, meticulously crafting content fulfills my need to communicate with audiences via storytelling and relationship-building.

For examples of my content work, please see my portfolio.

I am currently open to new editing, proofreading, and content creation opportunities.
FICTION
My books, The Collected Adventures of Mr. Edgar Beagle, Private Investigator and its sequel By the Pricking of My Paws, are genre-bending mystery novellas set in a parallel version of Victorian London. They chronicle the many achievements and frustrations of the fastidious, introverted, logic-driven Mr. Beagle as he struggles to pursue justice alongside his distractible, idealistic border collie friend.
